About PixID.studio
PixID.studio is a document photo compliance service for passport, visa, and ID applications. We help travelers and applicants in the United States and worldwide get government-compliant photos without visiting a store or photo booth.
Our tool validates photos against official requirements (US State Department, USCIS, and 60+ country specs), then outputs a compliant digital file and a printable sheet. We do not alter your face or use beauty filters — only crop, resize, and background adjustment to meet published rules.

Verification pipeline
- Input: User uploads photo; document type (passport, visa, ID) and country selected.
- Face detection & alignment: Biometric landmarks (eyes, nose, mouth) detected; head geometry (tilt, yaw, pitch) measured against tolerance thresholds.
- Background removal & replacement: AI-powered segmentation; output background #FFFFFF (sRGB) per ICAO/ISO rules.
- Geometric checks: Head size 50–69% of frame (US); 32–36 mm head height (UK 35×45 mm); country-specific dimensions. 2×2 inch precision for US passport; 600 DPI output where required.
- Photometric checks: Lighting uniformity, shadow detection, color balance. sRGB color space. No over/underexposure.
- File output: JPEG, correct dimensions, file size 54 KB–10 MB (passport) or <240 KB (DS-160). Printable 4×6 in or A4 sheet with multiple 2×2 copies.
