Pakistani Passport Photo — USA Renewal Guide (2026)
Quick answer: Pakistani MRP renewal at the Embassy in Washington D.C. or a consulate requires personal appearance — your photo is captured during processing. For DGIP online MRP, upload 35×45 mm white JPEG (max 5 MB). A CVS or Walgreens 2×2 inch US passport photo is the wrong format for online upload.

Use this page if / do not use it if
Use this page if: you are a Pakistani citizen living in the United States renewing an MRP — at the embassy/consulate or through DGIP online services.
Do not use this page for: passport applications inside Pakistan; a US passport (see US photo guide); or a US visa DS-160 photo (600×600 px). For NADRA identity see CNIC/NICOP guide.
Two renewal paths — different photo rules
1. In-person at the embassy or a consulate
The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C. and consulates in New York, Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles require personal appearance for MRP processing. Bring valid NICOP/CNIC, your Pakistani passport, proof of legal status (US passport, green card, or valid visa), and proof of residence. The mission captures biometrics and photograph during the appointment — you typically do not submit a pharmacy 2×2 print.
2. Online MRP via DGIP
Overseas Pakistanis can apply at onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk. You upload a digital photograph, supporting documents, and fingerprint forms. Home delivery is available in limited countries — check DGIP for current US eligibility.

Contrast with US passport: 51×51 mm (2×2 inch) per State Department. See US store photo prices — the $16.99 CVS package is the wrong dimensions for DGIP.
