Emirates ID Photo Requirements (ICP)
The Emirates ID is issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). It has different specifications from the UAE visa.

Appearance Requirements
Glasses
Permitted only if medically required, frames do not obscure the eyes, and there is no glare or shadow. Sunglasses and tinted lenses never permitted. In practice, remove glasses — even technically compliant glasses frequently fail automated biometric checks.
Head coverings (hijab, etc.)
Permitted for religious reasons. Must be dark-coloured to contrast with the white background. Full face must be visible from chin to forehead. No shadows on the face from the covering.
Clothing
Everyday attire. Avoid white clothing — it blends into the white background and the face/neck boundary becomes unclear, causing automated rejection. Dark or coloured clothing recommended. Uniforms not permitted.
Jewellery
Permitted if it does not obscure any part of the face.
